Today, most BMX pedals are made in plastic for few reasons. Plastic is very strong and lighter than metal. Also, it is a material that reduces the cost of manufacture. Finally, some grinds are done on the pedals and plastic help kicking these tricks.
Note that the left pedal always has lines engraved on the axle so it's easy to find where you have to fix it. We recommend putting some grease on the axle before screwing it on the crank.
There are also pedals in Alloy version for Dirt.
