A hubguard is a small piece that is installed next to the pegs to protect the hub and the spokes. Some hubguards are universal and can be fixed on any type of hub. Others are specific to shapes and brands of hubs. The rear hubguards are installed on the rear hubs.
A plastic hubguard is a hubguard with a steel structure covered with a plastic sleeve. The advantage is to change only the sleeve and not the whole hubguard. A Driveside hubguard need to be installed on the same side as the driver and the chain. A NON Driveside hubguard is for the opposite side of the chain.
